Our small town is raising money for the playground at the ball park. There were other things beside the cow going on. . horseback rides, tractor rides, a kiddie tractor pull, a petting zoo of farm animals and also a snake you could hold if you so desired...which I didn't. There were other games for kids...lolliepop pull, go fish, throw the rolls of toilet paper into the toilet bowl...yeah REDNECK. And then there was the biggest hit of all...the Dunk tank! That drew the best crowd. There was also a Silent Auction for various items donated by local businesses and resturants. A bake sale, concession stand and a local Praise Band rounded out the event. We had a good turn out and the weather co-operated pretty well. There was a pretty heavy shower that came along but there were enough tents to house anyone who didn't want to play in the rain. Small town American entertainment...good wholesome fun! :D

A Lost Hobby Rediscovered
I started the day out on the computer just looking around. I had revisited a blog I found while looking for an answer to a quilting question. That led me to start a blog of my own and eventually led me to a site for artists. I am not claiming to be one....but when I was younger I used to love to pass the time by drawing pencil sketches. I even received some gifts of instructional books and pencils and charcols. As I got older (high school) my sketching became more doodling. Then came marriage and babies and no time to doodle or sketch. This morning I saw a Scavenger Hunt of sketching. Basically a list of items to sketch. So I dug out some pencils and a sketch pad and started drawing again. Here are the results.....
Table beside the pool I was floating in as I sketched the sunglasses.
Not a pro but I was happy with the results. :D
